September 4th is National Wildlife Day. Founded by animal behaviorist Colleen Paige, it aims to increase awareness of the fate of wild species around the globe.
It highlights the species that need to be preserved and rescued from their demise each year, but also acknowledges the many outstanding conservation efforts globally for their work to help preserve this planet's animal diversity and educate the public about conservation.
How you can celebrate National Wildlife Day this year:
- Get involved with a conservation program
- Visit and donate to an animal sanctuary
- Get into the wild and connect with nature
